Big Red Band Boosters Uniform Fundraising Project

FINALLY! On December 28th, 2007, we were able to place an order with Stanbury and Midwest Uniform for 100 new uniforms! As of our Regional Ratings Festival in April, the Big Red Band will be sporting new uniforms, with a 'throwback' twist. Details from uniforms worn in the mid 1950's were worked into the design, keeping a tradition alive. We actually compared the new uniforms with those worn as far back as 1943, and find that the similarity is impressive. CHANGE IS EASY...TRADITION IS HARD. But, well worth the effort.

Our job isn't over yet, though. We must now continue to raise funds, to purchase new headgear and hat boxes, as well as additional uniform sets to be able to equip what has once again become a growing band program. Further, we are asking our booster organization to maintain an annual contribution to a uniform savings account, so that the effort will continue well into the 21st Century, but never again be as dire as it was these last 8 months.

We are asking you to help in this effort. Please consider helping in one of the following ways:

1. Your gift of $25, $50, or more is most appreciated, and you will be noted in our annual report as a donor;

2. Your gift of $350 willl purchase a new uniform, and the Big Red Band will have your name, your groups name, or a dedication to a loved one attached to the inside of a uniform jacket;

3. Or, if you have marched in the Big Red Band, have a child or grandchild who has, or would just like to own a piece of Big Red history, your gift of $300 or more will entitle you to own an old Big Red Marching Band uniform! We are unable to guarantee specific uniforms.

Please understand that in receiving a uniform for your donation of $300 or more, you will NOT receive a helmet or plume. These are being purchased separately, at a future date, since ours currently are in pretty decent shape.
